The POWER of the Coach:

Sally McLellan

Sharon and Peter Hannan, are the hardest working coaches in Australian Track and Field.

Their combined 60+ yrs of Track and Field coaching work has finally been rewarded in Beijing, with their sprinter Sally McLellan becoming the first Australian to make an Olympic Sprint hurdles final since Glynis Nunn-Cearns in 1984.

The amount of time, effort, blood, sweat and tears they have put into their coaching is a lesson that is forever etched in my mind!

It is great to see passionate people with life long dreams being rewarded and serves as motivation for athletes and their coaches!

Sharon and Peter Hannon coached/guided me as an athlete to the National Track and Field titles many years ago, and remain great mentors and have been instrumental in developing my philosophies regarding sprinting speed and running technique development for my athletes training with In Joe We Trust.

Their Speed and Sprint Training techniques appear to be working!

Out of nowhere, Kenny Wallace claimed a Gold and Silver medal in the K1 at the Olympics and was also awarded the OAM on Australia Day.

He’s also been doing the PR circuit, his knock about laid back unaffected nature has made him a favorite on the footy show.

Ken was one of the first blokes I met at high school, his discipline and commitment was evident back then when he was training multiple times per day when he was in year 8.

His strength and conditioning coach from the Australian Institute of Sport, Glen Workman was one of my mentors when I first started out in the industry.

Its great to see them both achieve their goals of Gold in Beijing!

Congratulations to former Southport Sharks player Brent Renouf, he now has a premiership medallion to his names, and now has his name down in the history books.

Whilst I was coaching at the Sharks, Brent was instrumental in our 2 Grand Final wins!
