There is a little known remedy that has slowly been gaining momentum for joint pain relief particularly for injuries and arthritis. I was first introduced to the miraculous joint jelly by our functional medicine doctor based in The USA Dr HL Sam Queen. The joint jelly is quick to make and the ingedients are cheap to purchase and can have profound effect to help build connective tissue. Coupled with the fact it tastes great-so you don’t have to force young athletes to consume it! In fact many of my elite athletes have it for desert┬ámost evenings.

Joint Jelly for Athletes!

Knox Gelatin recipe

You’ll need:

4 envelopes Knox unflavored gelatin

1 cup cold unsweetened fruit juice. We recommend Concord grape juice or unfiltered apple juice

3 cups of the same juice brought to a boil 2Tbsp fresh lemon and/or lime-juice

Sprinkle gelatin over cold juice in a large bowl. Let stand for 1 minute. Add hot juice and stir until gelatin completely dissolves, about 5 minutes

Pour into a 13x9x2 inch glass dish. Refrigerate until firm, about 3 hours. Cut into squares and eat

several squares per day.

If you would like to eat this as a dessert, Greek or plain yogurt is a nice topping. Rationale: To increase protein and help build connective tissues
